My Morning Smoke

I start my day with either Backwoods Buttered Rum, or Tobacco Barn's Rockwell, a Navy Style tobacco with a noticeable twang of perique. Believe it or not, I always have cold coffee with these tobaccos. Find it a good combination. I tend to like a bold flavoured tobacco in the morning. Any other recommendations? Always like trying something new.

I think Pegasus, a Burley blend from Cornell & Diehl, with black coffee is an excellent way to start the day.

Mine is usually c&d briar fox with coffee or tobac manil. Used to be Wessex burley slice or ssolani aged burley but can’t find either of them anymore.

My first morning smoke since I started back with the pipe in November is Haunted Bookshop.

It might not pack as much flavor as you like, but I enjoy Sutliff Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match first thing in the morning. I enjoy it any time of day really, but it is my morning go-to smoke.

I guess amongst my few morning smokes I'd guess I like EMP the best.

I make my coffee in a French press. I stout cup every morning since a wee child going to work with my dad. Temperature makes absolutely no difference to me as I sip it from 7:30-10 or 11 with the first 2 or 3 pipes of the day. First bowl has been Boswell's Premium Burley for a while now pretty religiously. Great way to start the day!

Do you take your coffee black or with cream and/or sugar? If it's with cream and sugar, I'd suggest trying some Oriental Silk or Sunday Picnic. A heavy Oriental forward va/or just hits me with coffee and cream/ sugar better than anything else. For black coffee, I'm usually smoking a strong burley like 5 Brothers or Haunted Bookshop or something with Semois.

For a couple of years I smoked either EMP or Presbyterian in the morning with espresso- but I’ve changed my habits and don’t smoke until later in the morning. Recently my 1st smoke has been something Oriental like Regents Flake or Temple Bar.
