Minnesota,
Thanks guys.
The bar actually in the next room. That is where I keep my pipes and tobacco. So I have to get up once and awhile to get a drink.
The laminate's nice...but that rug really tied the room together, did it not?

Nice.
Are they Hardy Boy books on your bookshelf? the blue books?

yes they are.
Also you might consider building a little insulated box to hold your fans. I would imagine in the wintertime that cardboard is going to suck heat out of your house quicker than Penzance sells out.

You are right. I may have to figure something better out when it gets really cold.
I think you also need a small short legged table to put all your stuff ( pipe, lighter, ashtray, tamper, glass or mug etc.) on, and have easy access to while you smoke.

You are exactly right. I have my grandfather's humidor/smoking table. It is is copper lines, kind of art deco. Probably from the 1920s. I am using it now in another room, but I will move it in here when I get a replacement.
The thing is, I have 2 young boys, and this room is also for them to do their homework and arts/crafts in, so I really needed to clear any smoke smell out. That is why I am so impressed with how well these fans work.
I really wanted to share with you guys an idea for a cheap, effective setup to smoke inside without a lingering smell. Blocking off the window with the cardboard and the fans creates a pretty good vacuum. I can feel it when I close the door. I also have an ozone generator that I used to use. Although this also works, the smell of ozone is worse to me then smoke.
Thanks again for the feedback.

That's a great space you have there to enjoy. I'm just a bit jealous. Every time I make plans to convert an empty room into a study/smoking room one of my daughters moves back home and crushes my dreams!! :crying:

They were using inline fans, where the motor is in the attic area with just vents and ducts to take the smoke away, and with a room full of men smoking cigars, you couldn't smell it and you couldn't hear any motors running.
This is a great idea for colder climates. These fans are much quieter than box fan types.
For warmer climates, not so much a good idea...
