In addition to my triumphant return I spent some time with some wood and my hand tools and whipped myself up a new tamper. I did some things differently from my last go and I think it came out wonderfully.
It's white oak with a .38 special and finished up with some carnuba

Haha with successes like this I might start to think I know what I'm doing.

Thank you. Thank you. :puffy:
Haha even with all the fun I had on my trip it's still great to have my tools back in my hands.

Very cool! If I was good with my hands I would transform the live ammo bullet I took as a memento of my time in the army into a tamper.

Love the spiral cut! I have my eye on a new cane that is similar.

I can say from experience that you can get good with 'em the same way you get to Carnegie Hall. Practice, practice, practice. I'd say get some spent shells in the same calibre and just start doing.

Well I suppose I still could! Haha I did just make another. I just can't seem to stop myself.
