After seeing lifeon2's junktique score of pipes, I went to a co-worker who runs an antique shop. He sold me this interesting item...

Then I did some searching for how to clean this up, as I would like to give it a try!

Luckily it seems to be in decent shape...

I like to put them in ovens on the self cleaning cycle
I used a burner on my bbq...wondered if it was working, peeked early on the cleaning, and it seemed to be getting darker...
is that the Harp of Erie on there?
Not sure, googled 'harp of erie', and it came up with 'harp of erin'??? I am searching to see it's age, so far it's likely from 1960's. That may help me find more info.

Beautiful, is that the Harp of Erie on there? In any case Great find!
never heard of Erie, heard of a country called Eire though. Big difference, and it looks like an Irish Harp alright.

Tried my new old clay pipe with some captain black white. Liked it. Will do that again. :puffy:
(although I kept thinking...this was in somebody else's mouth...hmmm)
