Shouldn't be a problem. I figure if it was a lot of folks would be freaking out with the potential of rolling black outs this summer. If I were you I'd get the unit checked out. I've had the same situation. Once it was a bad contactor and another time it was the starter. I did the work myself so it was a total of 22 dollars in parts. Of course it could be as simple as a bad breaker which runs about 25 bucks for a 40A 2 pole. A multimeter is your friend.

I already had some early signs this a/c was getting bad. It is a window unit that I have had for over a decade. It is probably just time to replace it. Im just glad to know my stash didn’t suffer.

I would get one sooner than later. Lead times on any type of hvac equipment is getting outrageous and they're not getting any cheaper. Save the one you have as a spare and in your spare time clean it up and see if anything jumps out as being defective. Doesn't hurt to have a backup.

80° F isn’t even close to being “too hot”. My parents keep their house at 78° at all times, which is very uncomfortable for me but I’m sure your tobacco didn’t mind. I’d be more worried about my tins during a drastic fluctuation in temperature than my jars. What do you normally keep the temperature in that room at? My place roughly fluctuates between 68° in the winter and 78° in the summer (when I’m not home). With a 10° fluctuation, I’ve never experienced any problems with lids coming loose.
