I agree with Brian, ignorance is bliss. Seriously...That's How I live...And I'm always happy...or I can make it appear as such

It's all perspective. Things are good and things are bad. I am one who is easily offended by "the way things are". It's depressing and easy to get caught up in. And, I understand when someone gets overwhelmed by it. I've sat in that for quite some time.To much of anything is a bad thing. This definetly includes the media. But the sun still shines, I get to go fishing, my wife loves me and I get to smoke my pipe. Even the world can't take that away from me... at least not yet.

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to my dad about how the progress of computer technology has basically stopped (in some key aspects), and that the prospects for advancement are pretty slim. He didn't seem to take the idea very well.
If you have expectations that everything is going to constantly get better, it's easy to set yourself up for disappointment.
I'm a pretty happy person on the average day.

Wow. I must be turning into a curmudgeon, because the first thing that comes to my mind after reading this is...
Suck it up buttercup!
Am I the only one here that feels like we're living in an alternate universe of some sorts?
C'mon man, when are folks gonna get over this Victimhood Mentality, stop believing all of this Manufactured Information being created by the Main Stream Media and the likes of George Soros and his lapdogs, with talk of "Micoragression, White Privilege, Social Justice, Blah, frickin Blah, Blah.
O.P., not tryin to be a D!ck here, but your friend needs to realize that Life Ain't Fair brutha. Time for yer buddy to get off of the internet, out of his mom's basement and get a job. If he can't find work, volunteer at the local soup kitchen and get an opportunity to help folks that truly have something to be depressed about.
n.b.:
NICE ADVICE. I'LL GIVE IT TO HIM WITH YOUR REGARDS. HE IS A DISABLED USMC VET WHOSE DAUGHTER IS SPLITTING WITH HER POT-HEAD HUSBAND. YOUR ADVICE WILL BE COMFORTING AND REASSURING TO HIM.
"BLAH, FRICKIN BLAH, BLAH" to you too, Buttercup!.
Opinions are like A-Hs. Everybody has one. Some find it difficult to Pull their head out and see day-light.
