That's about all you need, maybe another three or four pipes. After that, it's all just enthusiasm. I'm very enthusiastic.

"I just received in the mail today a Mr Brog Lumberjack dwarf."
An oxymoron if ever there was one
As Crash says, if it's a pearwood pipe it will burn hotter than hell!
Regards,
Jay.

Pipe collecting yes, but pipesmoking to me is something I just 'do', rather like eating, sleeping etc.
It analogizes best to what I drink, for example, that I like a cup of tea whenever I can get it, doubly so if it's cold outside (but a hot cup works surprisingly well in a warm climate also). Favorite teas, favorite tobaccos, and something that gets me through the day.

I have a Lumberjack dwarf from Mr. Brog that smokes really well. I have found that the pear wood pipes with the thick walls, like the dwarf, do not smoke as hot as the thinner walled Mr. Brog pipes.
Also, where did you order the dwarf pipe from? I have only seen an all black version.
Finally, welcome to the forums.

I ordered it about two weeks ago on ebay. Not directly through Mr Brog's site.

I'm about to give you the best piece of advise anyone can give you. Before you buy anything else, buy a 24 pipe rack  It won't be long before you're wishing you had one.

Anthonyrosenthal-I know, I am trying to stay off ebay and some of the sponsors on this site. What I could do with a few thousand dollars 8) I really want a nice pipe/tobacco cabinet.

True words, my brother, true words :)
Like the collection you've started. The pipes are solid--different shapes to experiment with--see what works best with the blends you've got. Fun times ahead!

Yeah, that's a pear wood. And the thick walls will cool the pipe in terms of your hand, but the wood around the chamber is still hot. Just smoke slow. I have a beautiful pear wood pipe that is carved to look as though it is leather wrapped. It loves Royal Yacht, but Royal Yacht forces you to sip pretty slow.

In stead of buying or building pipe racks, use empty egg boxes as I do. They are free, and give you more money to buy more pipes.
