My First Yanik: Four Firsts in One for Me

I normally prefer classic shapes in meers, and although I like to look at figurals and ornate carvings, this is the first one that I was really drawn to.

First Yanik, first ornately carved meer, first volcano, and first non-white meer:

That's some exquisite carving, sharp and clear, that really sets off the geometry of the work. Also, I like the chair-leg stem, and especially its dash of color to set off the carving. I like a pipe with some of those design extras that give it a distinctive look. I hope it smokes every bit as well as it looks good.

Yeah, the entirety is quite impressive carving, but the bottom is off the charts...and was really the aspect that pushed it over the edge for me and forced me to hit the buy button.

I have no idea, but the pattern isn't perfect...it has certain asymmetries that reflect hand carving.
