I bought two pipes today at a couple antique shops and I plan on smoking after I clean them up! I was hoping someone could give me some detail on what kind they are as Google hasn't been very helpful.
The first pipe is a bent one that has no markings on it at all. The only thing is a diamond/pulled oval on the stem that is yellow. I spent $8 on it.

The second one I think is a Better British Briar. It has a triple b in diamond engraved on with superfine under it with a circle r under it, and the other side has a stamped 46 on it. It says Genuine imported briar on the bottom with nothing on the stem. I spent $6.36 on it! I hope I got a deal.

Those look like fine pipes. If you look under Featured Articles on the right side of this page, you will see one on pipe cleaning. There are lots of videos on YouTube about this topic.
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome. Those seem like a couple good deals for the price.
I have heard good things about BBB pipes. The other one almost looks like an early Yello-Bole logo but not quite.

Intelwalk, the first pipe is an old Linkmans, probably from before 1950. Looks like a shape 89. Since it has no markings I'd say someone has refinished that pipe and sanded them all off. Those old Linkmans had several stampings on them including a four digit number. It could be a Dr. Grabow,a Hollycourt,50 Grand or another of the several lines that Linkmans made.If you will post a pic of the stinger I may be able to tell you more about it.

Well,it is definitely a Linkmans Dr. Grabow. The other Linkman lines did not use that type of stinger. Can't tell you which line of Grabow it is,Could be a "Special"-- "Deluxe"-- "Select Grain" or "Supreme". The shape 89 are getting hard to find.
