At first i was like What the heck nothing much there but i figured maybe i did a good enough reaming job and i took out the cotton balls here is what they looked like.

Ok after this you repeat the shank cleaning with the brush and the pipe cleaners and all that jazz.

then take a bit of alcohol on a cotton pad or cloth using it to wipe the inside of the bowl. Then i used Pats inferno trick and set that shit on fire. i tried to capture that part but it was difficult for hazardous reasons.

To be honest i cant tell the difference i just know deep within myself, these pipes are a lot cleaner from this lol. Next step. Now because these are my pipes and i like to use what is readily available i like to take olive oil (extra virgin is better) and just dab, i mean it just dab, a bit of it on your finger and rub it all over the pipe (1 dab per pipe) stem, bowl, shank and rim should all be covered in a thin layer like this.

At this point i like to wait 45min to an hour to give the oil time to set and soak in. Great time to try out my new Churchwarden Forever stem for my country gent.

Nice work Andrew!
Kudos to you for being brave enough to try and photograph and torch a bowl at the same time. That takes stones.
Lookin' really good man. Olive oil is an interesting idea... I've never considered that. I imagine it helps lift the grain/colour in old or tired briar. Do you go to wax after (carnauba on a wheel?)?

Watch running alcohol soaked cleaners thru those Perspex stems, if left in too long, the alcohol will haze the stem. I usually run a couple of cleaners dipped in water thru afterwards.

After this the only thing left to do is add them to your rack and give then minimum a day to get acquainted with your other pipes before you take then out for a walk. :)
