I was considering the 673 for a while but thought it seemed a bit big and heavy. It's good to know you think it an excellent clencher.
I find the 623 to be a much better clencher than the 673 with roughly the same shape.

I've got 2 of the Sav Unfinished III and their some of my best smoking pipes. Highly recommended. Bought them at Pipe Nook.I would buy the Savinelli unfinished III series pipes. You should google them!
Thank you, BlueMaxx. That is a very nice one. I will consider it.I would look at the 602 also.
It was my first Sav and step up from a cob to a briar pipe.
It is very light, utilitarian and comfortable bent pipe.
Has a pretty decent draw, I removed the balsa filter.
It is also very affordable and has a decent size chamber, clenches well.
Just my two cents...
Yes, I was also seriously considering that pipe but decided I didn't love the shape. I'm not a fan of diamond shanks yet.I find the 623 to be a much better clencher than the 673 with roughly the same shape.
Ah, but you're only at the 904 stage. Wait until you find out about 9004s, 914s, and 9005s.? Then again, most of mine are 50+ years old, and most were under $30.?I have recently picked up three new Savinelli. I anticipate these to fit right into my rotation as work horses. I'm coming for ya embers!
