I’ve read that. But I don’t care. Let it develop a patina naturally where I hold it. Do you really think it doesn’t look good that way ? I figure it will show the history of its use. I don’t think I will ever sell it.
No, it doesn’t look good that way, it looks dirty. Which is why Dave offered a suggestion.

Very elegant shape. I agree with @daveinlax too about letting your vergin Castello color without getting dirty. I said I didn't care when I got mine but it did get dirty and didn't look good. Oddly enough, I ignored similar advice about not handling meerschaum but my Altinok meer aged gracefully, perhaps because the dirt from my fingers was easy to clean off the smooth surface.
