Meerschaum doesn't expand with heat so the stems can be removed at any time. With the screw in ones, only turn the stem clockwise when removing and inserting it.Thanks for the pics!
So if it’s the screw in derlin mortise and screw i derlin tenon we should not remove the stem while hot?

Did the person who used to write up creative (and sometimes funny) descriptions of their estate meerschaums leave the company? Whoever handles them now just puts this write-up and a tiny description on every one.Not mentioned in the full description either but I see they're still running with the "immune to ghosting" myth.
