Briar Blues has one up that's similar to this, although his is actually a light sandblast (I think -- it's really hard to tell).I've heard of these pipes, but have NEVER seen one. This is a REAL find, and I think it looks like a very minute blast, but I'm sure it looks even better in person.
Got it off the bay. Picked up another one from the same seller, but with a slightly different finish in an apple shape. Both were billed as "LPI" pipes, which is how they're marked -- the seller didn't really know much about pipes. That is a very interesting piece - where did you find it?
Thanks, roth. I agree -- def. a different technique used on BB's pipe, and probably less time consuming at that.On the one Mike has up on BB, J.T. appears to have used a different blasting technique than used on your LPI, Pitch. While I like the lighter finish, I personally prefer the blast/rustication on yours.
LOL, captain, are you talking about the LPI pipes or the Andrew Marks? So that's who outbid me on those pipes. Enjoy them in good health, they look pretty cool.
