Alright. I have made about 3 pipes that were 1 piece of solid wood.

However this is my first using a separate stem. I am unsure of the wood, I knew

at one time and it is safe. Tell me what you think! This is my new smoker.

Critiques and compliments appreciated!

Im not sure what wood, I wish I could recall. Thank you though. It was a mix between ban saw cutting, whittling, and about 4 hours of sanding 8O. So worth it though

I havent got stain, I have used vegatable oil in the past, I put a thin coat on this but it turned up dull. So I will coat again. If i do invest in a stain it will be clear or a light stain.

is that a hairline crack in the top of the shank where it goes in the stem???

I saw that too. I like it. You nice job. If it was me I'd stain it though. I've been thinking of making my own. Id get one of the predrilled ones though. I dont have the skill to just take a block of wood and make a masterpiece. Maybe some day I'll be able to do it
