Thanks old Cajun. I'm cool with it to be honest. I'm lucky enough to live in an age where dyslexia diagnosis was about when I was at school. Also I have some very cool software that helps me out when I need it. I do like to rely more on my brain than the computers though.

I bet in the 70s it was really hard to deal with? I have a very faint memory of there being a "special stars class" when I started senior school but then dyslexia awareness really took off and it was, rightly, acknowlegged that segregation was not the key. I missed out on said class, thank god! What young teen wants to be a "special star?!

I also help other sufferers. Mainly in the fishing community at the moment. It's good to give back.

Update

I have fallen in love with this pipe. Its the first Briar of my day (I use my trusty cobs until such time of day where I can relax) in my rotation and I like a bowl of Emp or peterson irish oak. Every bit of effort I invested in this pipe was worth it. Ive not even built cake up in it yet so I have high expectations for what is already my "little boy excited anticipation" pipe of the day.

What makes this such a great smoke?

Is it the thick walls of the bowl, the tiny dual lines routed from the outsde, the shape of the stem, the way it sits in my hand or the way it comfortably hangsvfrom ky mouth? Or is it just the pride I have, born of hard work and pacience? Does it even matter? Yes and no I think. It dont drive me mad but it ceryainly giges me something to ponder thats a hell of a nice break from the more stressful of lifes puzzels.

When I put the nails down, late November '12, I knew I wanted a more pleasant way of smoking. I didnt ever anticipate thst it would change my life! It is indeed a hobby, an introduction to a whole new comnity steeped with camaraderie and a more gentalmanly way of life.
