Sweet pipe!
Glad to hear it smoked so great right off the bat, it sure is a good looker!
I've heard nothing but good things about Abe Herbaugh.
I have a little list of instagram pipemakers I keep tabs on just to see what's going on out there and his page has got some very nice pipes on it...

mlc, one of the things I do like about buying estate pipes is that in most cases they are already broken in. Luckily this pipe had no ghosts and it was cleaned up to a pristine condition. I do worry about getting a pipe that has been ghosted with any type of Lakeland blend as those can be a bitch getting the ghost out.
Thanks for the link, some very cool pictures of Abe's work. If he continues to make pipes that smoke this well and that look this good, he will have a fine future in pipe making.

I had the pleasure of joining Abe and a few other carvers for dinner this past thursday just before the commencement of the Chicago pipe show. What an unbelievably nice young man. I also looked at the pipes he had out yesterday. They were all a bit small for me, but the engineering and craftsmanship looked first rate.

Peck,

Nice to hear someone here, other than Al, has met Abe. I had mentioned one of his pipes was on my short list on another forum and I did not know he frequented the forum. He said he was humbled knowing what I had for pipes in my collection that I would consider one by him. It is a favorite in my rotation, and yes many get rotated more frequently than others, but they are all special. With younger pipe makers of Abe's caliber in the industry pipers are in good hands for the future.

I just looked at his gallery, and he seems to be getting the hang of it.
