I have been hearing about this artisan for quite some time and I saw one of his pipes on ebay and threw in what I thought was a low bid an hour before the auction closed and to my surprise I won. I really liked the blast and the stem work and the size is right where I like a pipe to be.

Too bad it's such a lousy blast, but otherwise a great pipe with really nice stemwork.

Congratulations. I was watching that pipe as well. I have been admiring his pipes for a while now and have been as close to buy one as I get. He is in the top 3 of makers i'm currently searching for. If he has one at chicago that strikes my fancy I will be adding it to the collection. Let us know how it smokes once you get a chance to test it out :)

Really nice. One of the best designed Rhodesians I've seen, so well brought together, the interesting stem, the sharp/slim band, and the "lousy" blast. Pretty spectacular.

Abe is absolutely, positively a future Star (notice the capital "S").
Get his stuff now, while you can. He'll have a waiting list soon.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I hear you about the shitty blast, :nana:. After all my searching the other night, this blast was one of the nicest I saw. I am hoping it smokes as good as it looks and I will definitely report back.

I have one by Abe and it smoked wonderful right from the beginning, I hope it brings many years of fine smokes.

I think you are in for a treat. Abe was part of our Winchester VA pipe club and I was able to handle a lot of his pipes. He moved to Vermont last year, and I'm kicking myself for not grabbing one of his pipes (he treated club members very well). His blasts are always fine, which I like. His stem work is first rate. Abe was making guitars and then guitar pickups, which I think he found to be boring. His move to VT allowed him to be a full time pipe maker. I miss seeing him, a truly nice young man. Enjoy that pipe!

I received my pipe today and I was totally pleased at how it looked and how it smoked. I did a fold and stuff with a flake of Capstan Blue Flake and the pipe smoked brilliantly, and my tobacco tasted great in it. I did not need a pipe cleaner at all during the smoke to soak up excess moisture even though I smoked it outside in the Florida humidity. It smoked cool and dry and the stem was as comfy as could be. This pipe is as good as any of my Rad's or other American artisan pipes and I would not hesitate to purchase another one of Abe's pipes. This is a top of the line smoking pipe and I am totally pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend grabbing one of Abe's pipes if you get the chance.

Thanks guys. I normally stay away from pipe makers that are fairly new as I did have a not so great experience with a new carver, but bigvan who I trust implicitly, gave Abe his approval so it was an easy decision to go after one of his pipes.
