My Fifth Carve

Here’s my 5th carve, just finished an hour or so ago. It’s sort of a canted Dublin. I was trying to do something a little different - The stem took considerable slimming down, it’s an acrylic grey with a lot of reflection in it. You can tell a little bit in the photo over a counter top. It really shimmers in sunlight.

That is a wonderful hunk of briar! Nice grain!

I just couldn't resist redoing the rim. The grain was awesome everywhere- except at the rim. Even the bottom has terrific grain that I would have loved to have had on top. Nothing seemed to look good - so, fot better or worse I pulled out the dremel
