Setters: I do apologize for commenting on your personal business. It's just that I am annoyed by the general perception that the women may set rules like this, so that guys who work hard supporting a family go home and are treated like inferior citizens because they smoke or drink. It is as if the women have set up a situation where the men feel guilty for just being themselves. When I was growing up, even the dog got treated with more respect.
You should come round my house, that's exactly the way of it, life revolves around the dogs. Doesn't bother me though, when she encroaches too far I tell her off. One should have respect for their woman, she does more work than I do (I've got a relatively easy cushy job and she does lots of busy science).
Jealous of your basement cave though, I can't smoke in the house, though I do.

Good for you man! I remember building up the courage to ask my wife how she felt about an occasional bowl in the house. Turns out I had nothing to fear. As long as I go outside with my Latakia, dark fired and other non aros, I'm ok in the house. I only get one or two bowls a day anyway, and my family really seems to enjoy the room note of Lane's RLP-6 and other such mild aros. I'm blessed in that my family thinks my pipes are cool. My wife is supportive as long as I don't get "excessive" with it. Whenever possible though, I enjoy the quiet time on the porch. If it's too windy, I usually go to the garage and open the garage door. I just like being outside when I can.
