My Comfort Blend

Yes, 3 Star Blue is surprisingly good, real tobacco flavor with just a hint of aromatic flavoring. I have a number of comfort smokes depending on mood, which would include Granger, 965, and Semois (which is comfort but so much more for me). My newest go-to old dependable, although it is relatively new to me, is P&C Midtown Chestnut, the only non-aromatic in the series, with six different tobaccos. I was skeptical since often blends with more than four or five tobaccos can get pretty harsh, but this one is flavorful, complex, somewhat mild, smooth, even-burning, and kind of a radical tub comfort smoke. Russ really hit on one here. There are a number of others, but I'll leave it there. At least try a pouch of Chestnut, and I bet most will buy a tub. I went for the tub and am most pleased.

I am also pretty new but I cannot complete an order without an extra tin of Cult Blood Red Moon. Its in my daily carry pack, my stash at home, and in my cherrywood MM pipe ready packed to smoke. Its really the only aro i can say is a go-to smoke. If i had to pick an non-aro/english it would be Frog Morton Cellar

I'm with Rob, with Lane BCA. It's not my all time favorite blend, but sometimes it's the RIGHT blend. My tastes are all over the place. Sometimes I just want a virginia, sometimes I may want a balkan or english, sometimes I may want an aromatic as serious as Molto Dulce or Queen Anne's Revenge. I suppose my favorite smokes are Black House and Blue Mountain (Balkan Blue)and of course my newest favorite Valley Of Dragons (one of my My Own Blend blends I got very lucky with.) But Lane BCA will always be there to serve a purpose. Sometimes that purpose is just to smoke on its own, and sometimes a little BCA added to another blend helps mellow it out and sweeten it up. :D

PS Balkan Supreme. Smokes well in every pipe I have, anytime and anywhere. Plus, it's cheap enough I can buy a hogshead at a time and not go broke.
