I make a habit of proofreading my posts, and many times I've clicked the edit icon and

gone back to fix up the error, but I miss a few. For example, on a recent What Are You

Smoking post in my description of my home mix, I said Altadis Dark Obsession was

Black Cavendish flavored with rum, whereas it's walnut. Since I'm sending some of this

to a Forums member to try, this must be confusing. I was confusing it, I guess, with

Altadis' aromatic Queen Anne's Revenge, which is Va/Bur/Cav flavored with rum, to honor

the namesake of Blackbeard's flagship, Queen Anne's Revenge in the pirate theme. I guess

because I am posting at various times of the day and night, my concentration sometimes

wavers, but I'll try to get 'em right. Also misspoke in one post saying that cigar leaf was in

C&D's Big 'n Burley, whereas it is in their Billy Budd. Being correct is good. As possible.

The point is, always good to fact check your stuff and to proofread.

I'm guilty as sin at this.
I have learned, however, to spell-check any post containing the word "virginia".

Good call! I recall on another forum - which unfortunately today (to quote a line from The Simpsons) is now "The Land of Wind and Ghosts" - a member raving about the merits of Full Vag*%a Flake, and then the merriment which ensued after he clicked the "Send" button, for it did not offer the luxury of editing one's post, post-post.

That's one advantage of forum sites that have a 'preview' option before you hit the submit button. Also it would be nice if this site had WYSIWYG when posting, but really no big thing. Other than that, if I think that I'm going to make a long post (which doesn't happen all that often) I'll sometimes type it up on Microsoft Word and then simply copy and paste it here. If by chance I'm somewhat inebriated it really doesn't mean a rats ass what I do, and or how careful I try to be as it will more likely than not be FUBAR. Come to think of it, that would then indeed be just what of WYSIWYG is!

Yep, the edit button is also my friend. One problem I have is my poor vision which makes missing typos common. The other problem is that I'm writing about stuff I'm still new at and therefor make frequent errors of ignorance. But if I knew everything about pipes I probably wouldn't be here.
Oh, the third cause of posting errors... late night Canadian Mist.

Lol I am also guilty of clicking edit, more than once sometimes. Even after that I'll read the post later and want to edit but can't. Maybe I'm just being anal.

This site, and most others will allow a 30 minute window for one to edit their post. However, most forum site programs (except for the discretion of the administrator) will not allow one to edit their post after someone else has responded to it, and as it should be for obvious reasons which I'll not get into. Bottom line... read over your post again, think twice, and only then hit submit. Follow that simple rule and then you'll more likely than not still 'f it up (including me).

This. Except when the Canadian Mist tells you this is the most hilarious post ever made and you should click Send right away.

Ha! simnett', I've done that, and I think it's a different problem (or talent). Cheers.

I make every effort not to make mistakes.Of course I still do.They are seldom pointed out though.Unlike some other forums that I've posted in the past.People here are very polite and understanding. That's one of the reasons I like it here so much.

Alas I have butchered more than a few posts. Most of the time I'm on the forums, I'm at work on my iphone. The auto spellcheck or whatever it's called will automatically change words sometimes. Btw, I'm bringing back old English spelling.
