My 8 yr. old granddaughter took her "chore money" bought grandpa this Mr. Brog because it looked Christmasy. I have heard of Mr. Brog and seen a couple of them but never thought about getting one, and I'll have to say I'm kind of impressed with it. Not sure if its the pipe it's self or the giver , but I like it.

Mr. Brog makes both briar and pear root pipes. The pear ones will obviously get hotter than the briar but the ones I've had all smoked good.

It's a good Christmas gift to get from a grand daughter.

She was so proud of herself and as cute as could be telling me she liked it because it was Christmasy.
It is Pearwood and the only thing I've found to get hot so far is that wind cap. I guess that will take some getting used to. I've never had one on a pipe before.

I have a couple of the pear wood and I did have a cherry wood pipe. I also had a Missouri Meerschaum hardwood pipe but it got ran over by a lawnmower (and it wasn't on Christmas Eve.).

I've had a few Me. Brog pipes over the years and they've always smoked good. Reasonably priced too.

I've never heard of pipes from lemon or strawberry

As for Mr Brog in general: they're low cost, entry level pipes (I have 3) and yes, they smoke well but: they are very heavily painted and their tenon is a weakpoint...
