I'm having problems with this story about Aunt Jemimah and Mrs. Butterworth. How about Mrs. Paul? And Mr. In-Between? Don't mess with him.
Pipe content: I have a Mr. Brog pipe made from an oak wine barrel, and believe me or not, it's quite nice.

Mr. Brog also has an eBay presence that ships from Brooklyn. I was told that it's actually an cloistered order of nuns in that apartment building that fill your order, and I don't want to sound anti-Catholic or anything, because I'm not.....

Most of their pipes are also available on Amazon.com, that's where I ordered my Mr. Brog Amigo pipe. It smokes nice, I love it, just smoked earlier today as a matter of fact. The only problem I had with it, was that when I 1st got it, the draw hole was plugged with saw dust and it was hard to draw. I cleaned it out with a pipe cleaner and now its good to go.

Mine had a really lousy filter in it. I removed it and all is good. $22.

As I look at the pipe now, I wonder what part of a wine barrel is thick enough to cut this pipe from?

I have two Mr. Brog pipes and love them both. My favorite is the No. 48 Chochla. Its perfect for a novice like me, smokes great and fool proof. The other one I have is their Billiard pipe which is great as well.

I have a oversized Mr.Brog made of pear with a burgundy finish when new. It smokes fine but the finish darkened noticeably after less than a dozen smokes.
I also purchased several Mr.Brog brand accessories: a couple of free form pipe stands, and four or five pipe terrific pipe tools /tampers that cost less than 5 bucks. The accessories were excellent quality and good values. I doubt if I'll buy another pear pipe. If on a budget, I would prefer a Missouri Meershaum Freehand for about the same dollars.
Now, I do have a question regarding the posts by anonymous. I was under the impression that you had to subscribe/registoer to post on the forums. But we have maybe two unregistered posters on this thread, each with credited with several hundred posts. What am I missing?

Hi Guys,

Sorry I didn't notice this thread till now, and by now there's so much to answer that I don't know where to start.

I'll try me best.

First of all there is a real "Mr. Brog". Mr. Brog is a shortened pen name (or nick name) for Zbigniew Bednarczyk.

And when I say Mr. Brog made this or said that or did so, I refer to Zbigniew Bednarczyk.

And here is a photo Mr. Brog himself:

Then I wish to explain the "Handmade" aspect of this.

We do not have a conveyor system in our studio, and we do not have a spray-booth for painting. And yes, everything is hand made from A to Z.

We do have patented drilling equipment that makes the process much easier and smoother, but of course a drill and a borer don't give up on the handmade feature.

Someone mentions that we would need to make 27 pipes a day for 50 years, and that it's nearly impossible.

Well, all of you are cordially invited to make a trip to our studio in Poland and see for yourself our setup of handmade pipes. You will see that we actually do more then 100 pipes a day, and all handmade yes hand made.

And believe me, if you have any connection to pipe smoking, it pays to make a trip to Poland, just to see our studio, it is a fascinating place to visit, keep our place on you future visit list ;-)

For those who can't make the visit to Poland, please watch these 3 YouTube clips.

And let me explain just a bit more how our process works. Zbigniew Bednarczyk will take a piece of wood every other week, and design a pipe from his artistic imagination, we will then make 2 drill bits to match the general design he has made, so that it will be pretty easy to duplicate that pipe. We will use these tools to simplify and to quickly create the general shape for hundreds of pipes (It is fair to call this process semi-handmade)

From this step on, it will be fully handmade mode, each and every pipe.

We do have 15 people working with us, so that enables us to up to 100 pipes a day. And we do call every pipe a Mr. Brog handmade pipe, as the 15 workers are assistants to Mr. Brog who oversees every detail of the pipe making, and every final touch.

Now, I know we don't match the higher end pipe makers with these pipes, and that is why we sell them for much cheaper.

You should know, that Europe is a way different market than the USA, I would dare to say that Europe has a much larger percent of pipe smokers, whilst they have less money to spend. so we are originally geared towards the European market.

And yes, we did sell over a Million pipes, and for that matter, if my calculation is right, we are now closer to 2 Million pipes sold.

And yes, we do make pipes every day for the last 65 years, non stop, even during the WW2.
I hope this suffices as an introductory of this column, as I wish to continues with another post shortly.

I wish to explain our different tiers of pipes, and our logistics into the USA and so forth.
For now, please enjoy a happy puff.
Yours Truly

"Mr. Brog"
