Moving on from Aros

If I didn't find and join this site I never would have learned about the vast array of fine tobaccos out there

Exactly, that most never hear of any other blends that's why they stick with OTC's I'm probably the exception in that I still enjoy some aros.

Anything that is not an Aro will give you good redults.

You might also try some English Aromatics such as Lane Limited HGL, a very good introduction, more English than Aromatic.

One of my comfort smokes when nothing else looks good. Pound worthy in my book...

If you'd like to try one of the most refined and mild of English blends, get a tin of Nat Sherman 536. If you want something rough and rowdy with cigar leaf (doesn't taste like a cigar though) CD Billy Budd.

Yep, exactly what I did, although I keep a couple of my favorites around. I migrated to VA flakes, lots of great choices.

but I would be a heck of a liar if I said I do not love the aromatics in my rotation
It seems to me:

#1 people become more educated by reading this forum.

#2 Given some education, time, and experience, pipers do find that there are other tobaccos besides aromatics.
Newbies get the idea that until you have deleted aromatics from your rotation you just don't know spit. Bullfeathers!
I once loved chocolate malts until I became a "malt god" then I realized only those of us fit for the mount knew strawberry was the only flavor for truly supreme beings. :mrgreen:

Yeh, the idea is that we use the sweet candy flavored tobaccos to entice the young ones into the pipe hobby, and then once we have them trapped in our world of deviant addiction, we get them to switch to real tobaccos. Muah ha ha!!
