Two Rads - a Zulu and his take on the 55 Pot - each set me back $425. Both are outstanding pipes. The pot isn't really my normal cup o'tea but it smokes so great I force myself to smoke it!

You got th Bing from Boswell's... It makes me feel better that one of "us" got that one. I wasn't able to spring on the site Thursday as I was at work... I definitely would have snagged that pipe. It's quite nice. Let us know how it smokes!
Sorry I saw your post too late. I didn't get the Bing that you refer to. I had Boswell's make me a Bing pipe, so it may still be available. Oops, sorry, I just checked and it was sold. I know for a fact that Jim Boswell made I believe 4 or 5 more Bings when he made mine, so call him and you might get lucky.

Since then there's been a bigger recreation factor in dumpster-diving finds of badly described, unappealing-looking treasures badly photographed by flea-marketing housewives in flyover country who don't know anything about pipes @ Flea Prey...
Unique joy indeed!
Can you believe several years ago I found a $5 Dunhill on eBay?

With shipping it was like $8.75!

Just as you described, bad pictures and illegible description,

a bit well-loved but a pipe that's still in my rotation and yes it is a very sweet smoker!

A 1967 shape 40 Shell lovat.

$46 plus shipping for a Bjarne Freehand estate pipe.
Close second: $45 for a NIB Savinelli Roma 626 from a fellow forum member :)

I believe the most I ever spent on a pipe was just over $200 for a Neerup pipe. It was a special occasion in my life and I simply felt like celebrating. More likely than not there is no way on earth I would ever spend more than that on a pipe again.

$650 on this Walt Cannoy Smooth Morta Billiard. I had credit at Smokingpipes and I love morta pipes. It was a splurge but I did not really spend any money as the credit paid for it! 8)

Now that you mention Walt Cannoy, I guess this is the most expensive, not counting the shipping.
