Not all of the plugs are heavy hitters in nicotine, in fact most aren’t other than 1792 (cob) plug. But bear in mind they are also very different from each other.

The most potent rose/geranium flavour can be found in the first half of a bowl of Rich Dark Spring Dew. The flavour does wear off and you are left with a fantastic virginia/burley. Coniston Cut Plug is another that has a good dash of lakeland flavours. Heavier in the nicotine department than the aforementioned, it maintains the flavour throughout the bowl, but is a more subtle and nuanced smoke. For me, CCP is the best lakeland, but, as they say, YMMV.

The Lakeland ghost may never go away. I guess ream gently and sand out the chamber, since cake is a guarantee of ghosting. The pipe may always be haunted. Rose geranium lives on. Or designate it to aromatic Lakeland blends, if you like those at all.

One year later and I have found my supreme deity of floral tobacco blends: Gawith Hoggarth Dark Flake Aromatic. I have no idea what sort of floral essence this stuff is scented with, because it's a very different floral flavor than I get from Ennerdale, Coniston Cut Plug, or Kendal Black Cherry and doesn't taste anything like roses to me, but every time I stick my nose in the jar or take a sip off a pipe of it I start salivating uncontrollably. 😅

I've heard some say Dark Flake Aromatic is scented with rose geranium oil, while others argue that it smells and tastes nothing like rose geranium, and others still insist it's pelargonium. Whatever it is it's amazing to me, with a bright citrusy bouquet of floral flavor that my usual lexicon of tobacco taste adjectives is utterly failing me trying to describe. I don't know what magical flower flavor essence Gawith has been spritzing the Dark Flake Aromatic with, but whatever it is I want more blends with this in it!
