Most Floral Lakelands?

After trying Gawith Hoggarth's Ennerdale Flake and Kendal Black Cherry I've discovered that I apparently really like Lakeland essence, so I decided to try some of Gawith Hoggarth's other offerings and picked up tins of Bob's Chocolate Flake and Rum Flake (now renamed Jamaican Flake).

Unfortunately I was a little disappointed to find that they didn't have nearly as much Lakeland essence as Kendal Black Cherry or Ennerdale, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend some other blends that go really heavy on the Lakeland essence? I am looking to have my tongue beaten with a flower bed, please.

I haven’t tried too many of them but I think Glengarry Flake and Coniston Cut Plug have a strong essence. You are right that Rum Flake has a very light essence.

I have heard that, and that Ennerdale used to be much more strongly perfumed than it is today. After everything I had heard about it I was surprised by how mildly fragranced Ennerdale was to my palate when I first tried it 6 months or so ago. It was much more subtle than I was expecting, and I found Kendal Black Cherry to be significantly more floral than Ennerdale.

This. After trying almost all the scented Gawith Hoggarths and Sam Gawiths, the others that I've found to be heavily scented are: GH Kendal Flake, SG Cannon Plug and SG RB Plug. RB Plug has clove and other spices too.

Kendal Flake based on "new sauce proportions". Coniston and Glengarry are pretty floral as well. But if I'm remembering correctly, kendal flake blew the socks off most current scented blends I've tried.
Best way to find out is order small samples of bulk.

As others have mentioned: #7 Broken Flake. I've smoked about 20 GH blends and that is by far the one with the heaviest perfume. In a cobb it was like smoking incense, in a good way. It was somewhat more subdued in a briar but still quite potent.

The GH toppings all taste and smell purely organic and delicious, as if you had stuffed a rose into your pipe. Every time I smoke a GH blend I think it's my favorite GH blend... until I smoke the next one... then the next... Lovely stuff for sure.

Glengarry Flake is a real winner, too. Although not quite as heavily topped as #7, it's up there.

If you like blends without rose geranium, just remember to designate separate pipes for those, unless you enjoy the ghosts of rose geranium too.

Rich Dark Spring dew is also heavy on the geranium. But it's a complex blend that changes very noticeably as you work your way down the bowl.

I'm not a rose and geranium fan especially (not a geranium hater but less keen on the rose) but I don't get the all-Lakeland tastes-the-same complaint. I'm smoking a particularly fine batch of Ennerdale at the moment. In fact, I'm hoping I get rained off today so I can go and buy some more. The dominant notes are hay and almond and the smoke is creamy as anything I've ever smoked. The nose scent I'm getting off the bowl is sumptuous.
And as for ghosting briars, I smoked some of this Ennerdale in the Rattrays I normally reserve for Exclusive black cherry and the Ennderdale de-ghosted the cherry note... Which takes some doing.

I have an estate Ser Jacopo that I think was heavily smoked with Lakelands. At first I thought it was Lat. It really does not play well with other tobaccos at the bottom of the bowl. Im working on smoking it out with Latakia. Someday it will be gone. (No offense to those who enjoy lakeland intended)

The most recent batch of Coniston Cut Plug has little to no sauce at all.

This is a great blend. Floral, but not too much for me. I think the Burley aspect adds alot to it

Lots of good suggestions here. I think GH Kendal Flake is very floral. No 7 Broken Flake is also up there. Bosun Cut Plug as well. I don't find Glengarry to have much floral scent, and while Coniston Cut Plug is certainly scented, i find it more spicy and cologne like than floral. Definitely try SG Grousemoor too.

Meh, I smoked it, still have the brick in mylar. Didn't strike me as very floral, or clove-forward. I thought it was a nice Virginia, certainly not any kind of sauce bomb.
GH Bosun cut plug is spectacular if you like clove!

I've been smoking RB for 20 years now. I rate it 10 out of 10 in the sauce scale, with Ennerdale the reference at 10. It doesn't have the same amount of clove as Kretek or Djarum, but then again, nothng does. YMMV of course. Batch variation is a feature of the Kendal producers as we all know. Also, sauce is much affected by how they're stored, I believe. So, e.g., my evaluation of Bosun Cut Plug is 6/7 out of 10 in sauce, but I've not smoked much of it, unlike RB.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! There were lots of good suggestions and I'm going to give #7 Broken Flake and Grousemoor a try when I can find them in stock. I'll probably have to pass on all the plugs and twists though, since my nicotine tolerance isn't terribly high and Haunted Bookshop is about the strongest thing I can smoke without getting nicotine sickness. Still, it sounds like there are at least a couple good options to try that won't knock me on my hindquarters!
