I know that some have constructed whole smoking rooms for their pipe smoking endeavors, so my recently acquired accessory is small potatoes in comparison, but I thought I'd share anyway.

I've taken to smoking on the front porch, and while I enjoyed the trailer park aspect of sitting out there in an old lawn chair, I started thinking about something more aesthetically pleasing and permanent. We have been talking about getting a nice bench for the porch for years, so it was very easy to sell my wife on the idea. A quick trip down the coast to visit a woodcarver, and we found this myrtlewood bench.

The price was right at $550, so we bought it on the spot. Myrtlewood is beautiful and expensive, and finding large pieces like this isn't easy, so I couldn't pass up the bargain for such a nice bench.

Here it is at home on the front porch. It beats sitting on the lawn chair for sure.

That's a truly beautiful bench! And I understand having your " own spot" to sit.

We bought a recliner for our dog, for 1.00 one day. When the dog god an upgrade, I got the hand me down chair, and put it in the garage. It's old, broken, and a sorry excuse for a chair. But it's mine. My own smoking chair.

Beautiful bench and it looks great there on the front porch. I prefer something more comfy for prolonged sitting. I'd probably set up chaise opposite the bench and just enjoy looking at it.
