People can price items anywhere they like, and sometimes they get the asking price, and I can't blame them for that. I am spitting aggravated that the pipe in the original post is described as a freehand. It's a classic smooth bent billiard. You may call it a kangaroo if you like, but don't bullshit the pipe community.

Benrapaport, that pipe right there is the single reason I bought my Rossi apple. It's my favorite briar pipe I have, and I'm never get rid of it.

When I see these super high prices, I always suspect if you offered them a third or an eighth of that, they'd snap it up in thirty seconds. Not in all cases, but in many, I believe.

I paid $100 for my first pipe, then it timed 100 soon after. I held an Lars black pearl with fish stamp last year, I would have bought it if my pockets were deeper at that particular moment...

That sums it up nicely. I have an Excel spreadsheet with all of the pipes I've bought in the last seven years, I don't like looking at the dollar totals at the bottom.....

The Dunhill Namiki's are ridiculously priced as well, but they wouldn't carry that price if there wasn't a market for them. BTW, I saw an unsmoked Bo Nordh go for forty grand a few years back.
