I keep it simple ... either Sutliffe Match Sunrise or a parfait of Lane 1-Q with Sutliffe 507C on top. Once in a while straight 507-c. Whatever I start I finish throughout the morning.

I want it strong and simple in the morning. C&d dark burley is what I smoke
Pretty hard to trump a burley with some coffee, my preferred are PS Cube Cut and MB Burley Flake.
Since this past summer I've been having something sweet/aromatic in the mornings after breakfast with coffee. For a while it was Captain Black Original but I've smoked the tin and don't really like it well enough to buy another anytime soon. Lane LL-7 is another good one for me, the caramel vanilla notes complement dark roast coffee. Granger is good any time of the day and sometimes gets the nod first pipe.
I've been enjoying some Escudo, Telegraph Hill, and some generic Navy Flake or Bullseye Navy Flake. I like perique but I like the morning smoke to be more Virginia forward with a little perique. Balkans or Chelsea Morning is good too.

Lately my go to morning smoke with a cup of coffee has been Borkum Riff Bourbon. I find the Bourbon flavour and coffee to go very well together. I've also enjoyed many of the codger burley as morning blends. Burley and coffee for breakfast is a classic.
I like a good strong burley with coffee when i do smoke in the morning. usually old joe krantz when I do the rare for me morning smoke.
I'm going to give some Pegasus or Briar Fox a try tomorrow morning. I've been looking for a bulk morning blend that I can lock into as well.
I like to start the day with something smooth and gentle on the throat, with a mild nicotine dose that's enough to wake me up but not unsettle my stomach before breakfast. My usual go-to morning blends are Carter Hall, Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Loose Cut, Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Black Cherry, or Peterson Early Morning Pipe depending on the flavor profile I'm in the mood for.
Burleys (Sutliff Ready Rubbed match, MB London burley, D&R Two Timer, C&D Dark Burley, depending on desired nic dosage) or a nice light English like EMP or Presbyterian are great with an unhurried weekend morning coffee.
During the week it's typically leftovers from the night before or whatever is most convenient.

I usually start my smoking day with a small bowl of G&H Dark Birds Eye.
For a Latakia Blend, I've enjoyed GLP Westminster in the morning with my coffee.
One of my favorites is Orlik Golden Sliced in the morning. Especially if it has a little age on it. It goes really well with a good English Breakfast Tea, but it goes great with a light-medium roast coffee as well.

Reading this thread, I'm quite surprised to learn how many Americans drink tea. I had thought that an unfortunate disagreement in Boston some years ago about tariffs and duty and so forth had rather put you off the stuff and you had become a nation of confirmed coffee drinkers. I'm gratified to hear this is not necessarily so.
Though please, loose leaf only whenever possible, and if it has a string attached it may well not be a tea bag. Do be careful out there.

There's a few of us! After my morning pipe I start every day with a cup of PG Tips, with about a teaspoon of sugar and a tiny splash of milk. It's not fancy loose leaf, but it's what I like.

Nothing wrong with PG Tips TBF. I drink Thompsons breakfast tea in the morning and Twinings Early Grey or Lapsang Souchong at other times.There's a few of us! i admit I don;t drink much loose tea myself because there isn't the choice available in the big stores any more.
But however you take it, a good cup of tea does go well with a morning pipe.
