Pretty much either Chelsea Morning or KBV Burly Morning Pipe for me atm. Also really liking the Hearth & Home Classic Burly Kake with coffee.

You mentioned that Burley Kake a couple weeks ago and it piqued my interest so I got some ounces.
Really good shit.
I thought I’d hate it because of the overwhelming topping smell and moisture level in the bag but after about 15 mins in the open air, it’s rich and nutty in the bowl. The topping is just right.
Really glad I got it.

I have been smoking the pipe since 1970. To this day I am a nicotine wimp and cannot even think about having a pipe until I have been up and about for six to seven hours. But I make up for it with three of four bowls during the rest of the day. The great benefit of being retired.

My hat is off to you guys who jump right into the (smoke) ring right off the bat. Especially to the ones that take on burley blends.

I guess I'm weird, I really don't get the spring, summer, winter, fall, morning, noon or night smokes.

There are several blends I like and have on hand, I just reach for the one I'm in the mood for no matter what time of day or year it is. So, I guess that makes me a moody piper.

That's pretty normal. I find I smoke certain things slightly more certain times but generally it's a gut thing. Then again I don't have a huge list to chose from.

It’s kinda whatever I have open at the time. Usually it’s been Pegasus but I’ve been going through a serious G&H Kendal Mixed phase lately. I definitely prefer something with a nicotine hit in the mornings and I always smoke a pipe after breakfast. If I don’t have time to eat breakfast (which is rare) I’ll smoke a RYO cig of Three Sails with my coffee.

What would you compare the burley cake to? Just was curious the topping on it. I believe it is an aro and I never got around to buying any.

Every morning of every day, the first bowl is Milan's "our" Prince Albert with a cup of dark roast coffee. The second bowl, which comes soon afterward, can be just about anything.

Easy for me. Sir John's Flake Virginia with a quality mug of coffee. For first bowl, I want something not too heavy, sweet and flavorful. This has exclusively been my first bowl of the day blend for the past 18 months or so and always smoked in my Altinok Meer unless I'm traveling and left my Meers safely at home. If I had to choose a second, it would be MB Virginia Flake.

I've been enjoying the Kramer's Blend for Danny Kaye , at times I find an almost root beer note when I have it with black coffee.
