So I have reached the end of the boxes that housed my grandfather's belongings (or at least the portion that came to me). I have found more pipes. A lot more. Like 40 more. Someone must have sorted them at some point, because these ones are primarily English. They also, to my untrained eye, seem not as "nice." I will try to group like pipes together and post some pictures. I was hoping someone could give me an idea of whether any of these are worth having restored -- I will be getting the danish pipes I posted about last week restored, and some of these English ones, I suppose. But i can't pay to have 60+ pipes restored just for sentimental reasons!

Next. The first "group" of obviously related pipes I can see are these three "Ben Wade" marked ones.
The top one is labeled "Ben Wade" and "Hand made in Denmark" on one side and "Majestic" "designer series" on the other side.
The middle one is labeled "Ben Wade" and "Standard" and on the other side "Made in London England."
The bottom one reads "Ben Wade" and "Standard" and "London England" all on one side and the number "51" on the other side.

The top one reads "KAYWOODIE" and "Natural Burl"
The next one down reads "KAYWOODIE" and "Natural Burl" on the bottom
The next one down reads "KAYWOODIE" and "Standard" on one side and the number "04" on the other
The white one reads "KAYWOODIE" and "White Briar" on one side and "Imported Briar" "86B" on the other side.
The bottom one reads "KAYWOODIE" and "Standard" on one side and "Imported Briar" on the other.

The left most one one is labeled "GBD" and "Super Q" on one side and "9436" along with a stylized "Made in London" stamp on the other side.
The next one to the right is also labeled "GBD" and "Super Q" on one side, but has the number "335" and the "Made in London" stamp on the other.
The third one from the left also has "GBD" and "Super Q" on one side, but has the number "508" and the "Made in London" stamp on the otehr.
The right most one reads "GBD" London Made on the top and "London England 1451D" on the bottom.

(Note I just realized the forum flipped the images -- When I said a pipe was the "top" one, I meant to the left)

The kaywoodie's should have numbers on them to help with determining the age. As far as "worth it"? That depends on your reason for restoring them. If it's the ability to smoke a family heirloom, I'd do it without a second thought (do it myself as a learning experience that is). If you intend to sell them and have someone else do the restoration, then probably bordering on definitely not.
Just my opinion

Next up are pipes labeled "Mastercraft."
The one on the left is labeled "Mastercraft" on the top and on the bottom reads "Imported Briar Italy" and either "1961" or "1981" "Originals" "Virgin"
The next one over is "Mastercraft" and "Originals virgin" on one side and "Imported Briar Italy"
The next one over is "Mastercraft" and "Canadian" and "Briar Italy" on the top
Finally, one is wrapped in leather and labeled "Mastercraft" and "calfskin"

Thanks, btp79! I don't smoke myself and my intention is not really to sell any (or at least, that was my intention before I found myself flooded with pipes!). I want to restore a few for sentimental reasons. I will definitely be doing that for the Preben Holms and some of the other Danish ones I posted last week. Since these ones look "different," I figure I would get at least a couple of these one's re-done, too. I am just trying to figure out if there are any that are "special" such that they should be at the top of the restoration list.

Ok, now we are out of the big groups of "related" pipes and on to ones that strike me as "similar" to each other in style.
Starting from the left, the first 4 pipes have "diamond" shaped shanks.
The left most one has the letters "KBB" in a clover leaf and reads "Filter Brush by Yello-Bole" and "Imported Briar"
The next one reads "The Guildhall London Pipe" on one siade and "made in London England" and "531" on the other side
The next one reads "Digby" "London Made" "London England" and "2007" all on the bottom of the pipe.
The next one reads "Royal Crown Windsor" and "Made in England" under the pipe.
The last two from the right both have the same silver hallmarks (for lack of a better word, don't know if they are actually hallmarks) on a band where the shank ends. The second from the right simply reads "Algerian Briar" and "France" and the right most one reads "Silverknight"

More "random" pipes:
The left most is "Gresham Giants" on one side and "124" and "Made in London England" on the other.
Next one is labeled "Jobey Band" on the top and "D81" on the bottom
Next one is simply labeled "Dr. Donald" (in quotes) on one side and "Imported Briar" on the other.
Next one is labeled "Royal Duke" and "Dr. Grabow" on the top and "imported briar" on the bottom. Has a spade on the stem.
Last one is labeled "Arlington" and "Supreme" on one side and "Imported Briar" on the other.

Having 60 or so pipes restored would indeed get a bit pricey. If you want to have them restored but don't want to spend a ton of money on them, I would suggest reading up on pipe restorations, watching some videos on Youtube etc. etc. There are plenty of restorers here who can probably give you some pointers too.

In that case I'd restore the 3 that look like they have the most use as "grandad's" favorites, then the 3 that you like the best and put them in a nice display case. I picked 3 as a totally arbitrary number. You are very fortunate to have these as a link to your family. All I got was thinning hair :(

Your grand dad had a really cool collection. Congratulations and condolences. If you stick around, you will have no problem moving the ones that you aren't compelled to keep. There are several that caught my eye just in your initial pictures.

Thanks! No condolences needed -- He passed away many years ago. My mom just got around to giving me the pipes. Since I have posted his pipes, I figure I might as post a couple of him smoking his pipes!
