Sigh* no more smoking on Saint Catherine Street! What will I do now :rofl:
It's the suburb of Hampstead, not all of Montreal. St. Catherine Street is safe for now.

@peck: the town is Hampstead, in the West island, the Little Canada of Québec. That's where probably close to 90% of the province's anglos live (the rest being mostly in the Eastern Townships). Where they even speak English at home and at work. That's hardly representative of the province. :wink:

Google maps Hampstead. It's not on the West Island, but the island of Montreal proper, and it hardly contains that many of Quebec's Anglos.

@upnorth: you must have meant the ville de Montréal vs île de Montréal? Because West island is also part of the island. :wink:

What I meant was the western part of the city, which starts with Sherbrooke St West (rue St-Laurent). :wink:

In any case, it doesn't matter as the great majority of anglos in the province do live on the island, starting at Sherbrooke W. :wink: :wink:
