FWIW: I do none of the above, and reuse jars with no washing. No mold, but I do dry down my tobaccos when jarring for immediate or near term use.
Actually you haven't proved that. Do you wipe your hands with bleach or vinegar every time before you handle your block of tobacco? Mold spores are EVERYWHERE. Because you have handled the tobacco for several months you can't definitively blame the blender for this. At what point would you say that opened tobacco is no longer the blender's issue....3 months, 6 months, a year???? You open a tin and it's moldy then yes the blender should replace it but the blender can't be on the hook forever.

I'm not trying to prove anything. They sent me two tins that were covered in mold. What I am talking about now is the fact this tin was mold free, but within about two months mold appeared in spades. That's all. That's all I'm saying.

Just to hop in behind gorillafly here,
this thread is much more interesting when we were talking about C&D and if anyone else is opening tins let's pipe up.
This thread got a lot less interesting when people started talking about sanitation techniques. Sure the last time he got mold it was in a jar, but OP had already demonstrated new tins having mold.
I for one want to talk about damn red flake and if anyone has mold on that.
