Hard to believe but Missouri Meerschaum is now making their standard cob designes into hardwood pipes! This occured due to the drought which caused their supply of corn cobs to dwindle and their manufacturing of the larger ones to be cut in half. www.Aristocob.com has them on preorder right now, they are not yet available directly from MM's website www.corncobpipe.com. They are much higher in quality than the Ozark line of small hardwood pipes and are a bit more expensive than regular cobs.

You can only find them on www.Aristocob.com right now under "Non-Cob Hardwood Pipes" for preorder. They are the 3 pipes for $13.97 below the Ozarks.

have one, smoke it...
1st few bowls are kinda rugged to get done. after that it settles down to a nice little smoke 1/2 way between a briar and a cob.

This is all very interesting. Like the video said, when the next corn cob crop comes in, and the company recovers, these pipes may very well be discontinued -- and that will make them collector's items, like the steel penny.

They are also making amber colored versions of the more substantially thick "Danish" pipe bits.

Not a bad idea with the drought problems they've been having. I happen to like the way the ozark Mountain hardwoods smoke, so I might give the new hardwoods a try too.

I love my cobs. This sounds like a bad idea.
I have pipes made out of wood allready. I go to MM for cobs, not immitation briars.

Rothnh, they make the black versions of the thicker stems already and will continue to make them :) They are my favs for the larger, heavier pipes. For smaller, lighter ones (Country Gentleman and below) I like to use their standard bits.
