Arrived in the mail today. Gonna load a bowl of some Old Joe Krantz. Really digging this country gentleman.
I love my original forever stems. The ones with the brass dots. But the draw is so tight I get moisture immediately. And remember I dry my tobacco to crispy. You will have to report on the draw on the new version.
Man, its wide open. No restriction whatsoever. I'm very pleased and will certainly be order a couple more very soon!
Good to know. So I assume these aren't old stock sent to them without the dots, but they make them from scratch.
I wish they made the vulcanite forever stems still. Then again, I've been meaning to do more practice on my stem work, and this may be a good opportunity.
The only reason I use forever stems on my custom cobs is because right now all my "tools" are put away but within a month or 2 I'll just be making my own. The issue is the acrylic are very heavy in comparison to the shape of pipe I'm inspired to create at that moment. My 2 most recent I made for members as gifts for SS and trade. You can see in the pics how the pipe stands with a vulcanite stem compared to acrylic.

Thank you guys for the kind words, it's hard to think of stuff I've never seen before when it comes to pipes. Ive seen people use briar shanks on cobs before but I just never seen 1 with the base and plug made of briar. So as they say if you want something make it,
so i made my first 1 for myself to smoke at work. The briar is actually mimmo briar from vermont freehand so its high quality briar as well.

Within the next few weeks I should be able to start making more.
