DUDEBRO... YOUR BUDS ARE SHOTI smoked both today.. It's almost exactly the same thing.
They really don't even taste close to one another.

where did you get the pouch? of either one?I smoked both today.. It's almost exactly the same thing.

They are so different I really can't believe you would think they taste even remotely similar.
Interesting. I wonder if the bulk is off in some way?I bought a bunch of pouches of Half and Half from a local B&M, I got the Mixture 79 in a pound bag from p&c.
I sent some to @Countrybladesmith today. Maybe he'll weigh in on it.
I also included some of that Match Hines Mixture... so everything in that box will be chocolate infused.

I’ll air that Half & Half out for a day or so once I get it, just in case it soaks up some chocolate scent. And I have some Mixture 79 on hand, that I bought in bulk from SP. I’ll just fire up a pipe of each and do a side by side taste test. ?I bought a bunch of pouches of Half and Half from a local B&M, I got the Mixture 79 in a pound bag from p&c.

Mixture 79 is pretty Burley-forward, maybe the Burley is what you’re keying in on.It could be, you hear a lot about pouches and tubs/bulk being different. Maybe with the 79 they went heavy on a common ingredient with Half and Half.

Don’t let half and half food you. It’s a sneaky little bitch. You’ll think you like it then smoke it from a few pipes even a cob then boom ghosted. ?I looked at the TR entry for Half & Half. Anisette is listed as a topping. That’s kind of Mixture 79-ish. ? I’m looking forward to checking these out side by side.
I do not EVEN want to know...Someday you're going to have to confess how you came to know this fact.
Half and Half is good mixed with Crooner.?? It definitely improves it.Alright, @Richmond B. Funkenhouser was kind enough to gift me with a sample of Half & Half, so I have two MM cobs going as I type. One with H&H, one with 79. They are so not the same ?.
Ok, they do have some serious overlap: they both have a noticeable Burley presence. They also both have an anisette/licorice thing going on, but...
The first thing I tasted when lighting up the Half & Half was the Virginia in it. Mixture 79 is just Burleys as far as I can taste. The Half & Half topping is lighter in the licorice/anise and also has a fruitier component, almost like a cherry cordial, but very light. It might be a liqueur topping I’m tasting. It’s subtle, so it’s hard to nail it down, but it’s definitely lighter and fruitier than 79. The Virginia adds some grassy notes not present in 79, as well. Mixture 79 is a little heavier on the anisette, and definitely has a sassafras thing going on. With a very light hint of wintergreen.
So anyhow, what I found out is that I quite like Half & Half. It would be even better with a little deertongue in it. A shame they took it out. I might try mixing it with a little Crooner or Gentleman Caller and see what happens.
I believe it’s something akin to cherry in it. But like the urinal cake cherry in war horse bar.Alright, @Richmond B. Funkenhouser was kind enough to gift me with a sample of Half & Half, so I have two MM cobs going as I type. One with H&H, one with 79. They are so not the same ?.

I haven’t tried any of the War Horses yet, but I intend to.I believe it’s something akin to cherry in it. But like the urinal cake cherry in war horse bar.
