I hope MM continues offering reed stems as an option. In fact, I wish they'd experiment with bending them, and consider offering runs of some modern interpretations of the pipes on those 1904 wall displays (also pictured in their 1909 catalog, of which MM has a copy).

Bob used to be a regular member back a few years ago, always posting friendly and upbeat. I really liked the guy. And, although I still will not smoke a cob, I did buy a few of his Old Dominion pipes. I really like the look and feel of the OD over the weird hybrid modern looking MM's. They just seemed more of what a corn cob pipe should be like. And, I think Frosty the Snowman would approve.
I hope this works out positively for both companies.

I've seen several historical movies where actors obviously were smoking those Missouri Meerschaums with the black rubber stems. It was so weird seeing someone who was supposed to be working a gold mine in Alaska in the 1800's with a modern MM. Maybe now, we will get more historically accurate movies if ODs get as much publicity as MMs.

You do know that Bob isn't just a name it's also akin to a cult and we're mostly upbeat and friendly and the ones of us that aren't get demoted to Georges. Just thought you should know.
