Any of you that have taken this deal gotten any of the mini-cobs in your bag? I saw that several of the reviews on MM website said they had. I don't particularly want 1-2 of those in there as the value, to me, would be greatly reduced.

Just ordered this. Looks awesome and can't wait to get them!
Greg, even if two are unusable, that's still $3.75/pipe. That's pretty cheap and cheaper than the pride on some of the major retail sites.

I got a grab bag from MM a couple months ago and I am very happy with all of them.

The majority of mine were Legends, 5 or 6, and that was great cause that is my favorite sized cob bowl.

The flaws are indeed very minor and all were cosmetic, nothing structural was wrong with any of them.

Great pipes from a great company imo.

Got my Grab bag last Thurs,
9 Legends mix of bent and straight, black and amber.

1 Country gentleman
One has a small crack, about 1/2", all the other just chips, or looks like a kernal missing!
Bought them for Christmas, so all my wife's brothers (3 of them) and father in law and I, can crack Christmas Cheer 2011 and enjoy. New In-law tradition I am starting this year. Already got my CC 2012 for next Christmas!

MM's quality control is rather lax anyway. I love MM cobs, and I own about a dozen. But it's true. They all have a few bumps and bruises. I did receive one pipe that was basically unsmokable out of the box. And I've received a couple that I had to do some work on before I deemed them ready to smoke. And these are FIRSTS. How lousy are the seconds gonna be?
There are a few models that I'm not interested in. For example, I'd be slightly annoyed if I got a bunch of Dane Spools and Patriots (which smoke fine, but are just ugly to me), or a bunch of Minis (I haven't owned one, but the descriptions sound like they are so small as to be basically useless).

These pipes are cheap. Buying directly from MM is the most expensive way to buy them. So, yeah, it might sound like a good discount from MM's price on their website...but it's not that great of a deal. Go to mars cigars & pipes, cheapest place I've found cobs. Generals and Diplomats and Great Danes for $6 instead of $10. Legends for $3.50. And discounts for lots of 12 or more. Heck, if you like the small ones, you could make your own grab bag of ten firsts for LESS than $30. Why buy seconds when you can get the firsts for this cheap?
Anyway. Sorry, just wanted to throw out my two cents. The flip side is that grab bag specials like this are fun, and sometimes you really get a great value out of it. It would be pretty awesome to open that bag and find a couple of Freehands in there

Nearly ordered a bag, however, the 7.95 shipping on top of it kind of kills it for me. I would rather put that $38 toward an estate. However, I do seriously enjoy my MM cob.

Yea I bought the Country Gentleman with a bent stem. Depending on how I like it I wanted to know if getting more by ordering the grab bag was a good/smart deal.
Exactly what I did: I ordered both a Country Gentleman and a Grab Bag...

I'm still waiting for my order (Greece, overseas order, some waiting time...),

so I will sure let you know when I open and smoke it!

It sounds like a good deal, I couldn't resist!

I have never smoked cobs, but they seem intriguing, and I'm confident that the grab bag is value for money!

Just a note to you guys who just ordered a grab bag: if I were you, I would remove all the nasty little paper filters in each cob.

in the grab bag i received i did get a country gentleman, along with a few other styles. johncorosz might be right. i could have just ordered another couple legends from mars cigars. it was a small enough amount of money that i'm not going to sweat it though.
