I've watched a bunch of this fellas vids since that one. He's been at it awhile. He and his dad do 'box openings' and have quite a good thing going it seems.
Looks like any fledgeling or even some reputable pipe makers are sending them pipes. I did see one 'opening' of a two pipe set (father & son pokers) by a Texas carver it seems Jayson actually might have paid for.
These guys were in Eustis FL. I may have to get over there and check em out. I've lived in FL for almost 40 yrs, but I'm native to New England. There are several distinct 'types' of FL residents.
We've got what we call native Floridians of several types too.
The swamp naturalist type are some of my favorites. These guys hunt hogs, gators, soft shells, frogs, deer, and squirrel. They fish, clam and cultivate. They wear white rubber boots and tow airboats behind 4wdr trucks. They make moonshine, grow medicine, and build stuff w/o permits. When they get together for a party, it might last a few days.
The Senior Citizen too, are faves. I am one. I get my TV from broadcast signals not cable so I see a lot of advertising when I watch it. This stuff will wear you out/down/ and sideways. They're mind bending assaults upon the Senior savings account or home equity. From 'free support socks' or knee braces, to term life insurance to umpteen other types of insurance, to reverse mtgs., catheter ads, and on and on...many proudly touting their affiliation with AARP. Talk about a brand that got away. Nothing but an insurance company now. AARP is a front.

Jayson Dagner (the man in the video) is a great guy. Had the chance to hang out with him and his dad one evening a while back when they were visiting the area. His dad is in a lot of his video's. Both awesome people and funny as hell. He loves Mississippi River and speaks highly of it all the time. It's one of my favorites too.
Holy cow, he was puffing like a freight train and then lit is up again in the middle, no wonder he had to reach for a drink! :lol: I think it would take me a half an hour to take that many draws. I tease but you have got to love the personality, appreciation and excitement for the blend. I'll have to watch more of his videos... and smoke some more Mississippi River of course, before he buys it all.
I think he should get some kind of kickback or some discount on MR due to all the interest he's garnered on that blend. To be honest, when I was looking to start down the road of English blends over a year ago, I watched some youtube vids and I came across his. Just by how much he was going on about MR, I ordered a sample.
I've seen other video from people sampling MR and they made mention due to Jason's enthusiasm.
Sure it was good, but I found it a bit lacking for my tastes. I then tried Plum Pudding and have stocked it ever since in my cellar.
On a somewhat related note, I understand all the clamoring for both Mississippi River and Plum Pudding, but nobody really says much about the 3rd SPC blend...Seattle Evening. I haven't had it, but honestly the only thing holding me back from trying it is that I'd rather not throw down $10 for an entire tin. I rarely see people smoking it in the "What Are You Smoking" threads. Anyone have any feedback on this blend?

I've yet to try the Seattle Evening blend as well. I've been interested in trying it, but I just haven't got around to buying it. Its on my ever growing list.
