Even though Matches860 passed away years ago, I still enjoy revisiting his videos. Only just today I can’t find any! The ones I had bookmarked have a disclaimer saying “If the owner of this video has granted you access, sign in”. Have they been taken down? Does anyone know anything?

YouTube frowns on tobacco use as the videos can't be monetized. They deleted all of mine a few years ago.
The family has/had control over the account. They'd be the ones who would know.
How disrespectful of his memory. Great content to this day, how can anyone want to hide it?
I was wondering if YouTube had deleted them or had applied pressure in some way. I heard they’re cracking down. What a bummer. Sorry yours got deleted too..
Yep, that is a shame. The only video's up currently are from others paying tribute to John. Sgt. Savinelli still has his video's up where he is with John on the few occasions they got together for a pipe.
I checked, and Old Pipe Pops video's are gone too. He was pretty well known and had some great video's as well, before his passing. Maybe after so much time of no activity on the account, maybe YouTube pulls them. Don't know for sure, but it's a shame that those video's aren't up anymore. John had so many great stories and it was nice to just sit back with a pipe and listen in.

It is weird, because I know I have at least one of John's video's favorited, so maybe the family took them down??? It's weird for sure.
The only youtube piper I watch anymore is Malcolm Guite.
He's an author, poet, lecturer, philosopher and a piper, especially Petersons.
His channel isn't so much about pipes, it's about literature...with a side of pipe smoking. He knows The Lord Of The Rings almost word for word. His insight is very interesting. Him and I would get along just fine.

The latest comment on his last video, someone asked if he knew what was up. He said the family set the account to private.
Interesting. As much as I hate to not be able to access the videos any more, I’d feel better about it all if it was the decision of his family rather than some silly YouTube intervention, intentional or otherwise.
You're right. I just checked and they are back up. I wonder if the discussion here got back to the family or whomever pulled it?
I actually clicked on this one just now and it reminded me of just what a nice fella John was...... Really considerate of others.
