Our featured guest on tonight’s Pipes Magazine Radio Show is the founder of the Pipe & Tamper Podcast, Mike Murphy. Mike started his podcast in 2018 and turned over the show to new co-hosts Bo Parker and Jay Furman in January 2025. Now that Mike hasn’t been doing the podcast, he has even more time for pipe smoking, collecting and going to pipe shows. Brian and Mike will have an extended chat revolving around the Las Vegas International Pipe Show that just occurred the last weekend in October.

The show airs every Tuesday at 8:00pm eastern US time, and can be found at PipesMagazine.com and all podcast apps.

If that fiddle player on the new Missouri Meerschaum ad isn’t AI you guys had better take them out behind the woodshed and shoot them.

Vegas was my first pipe show ever, and I had a blast, a bit of an overload figuring out the 14th floor and all the vendors on Saturday. Our group also enjoyed the dinner and getting to know those at our table, but we really needed that Sunday to do it right. Flights from our area of Colorado are Thur-Sun, which threw off the timing of the show. Have it figured out next year. Thanks for all the work the team did to make it memorable and fun!

Another fantastic show!

It was really cool to see the Collector’s Showcase have that kind of participation. Seemed like everyone who hung out in the lounge Friday night took a turn checking out the pipes. I had to head out a little early Friday night, but I did catch Dr Bob Saturday and sent him a picture of my collection of his pipes.

Seemed like a noticeable increased amount of show goers. It was a lot of hellos to old friends and making new friends.

The dinner was really nice. Congrats to the award winners and the game show winners.

Sunday seemed slower than usual, but that was okay because it made for some really good drawn out conversations.

Big thanks to Brian and Dave for putting the show on. Can’t wait for next year’s show!
