They don’t smell very good to me I’m going to have to clean them

Even if they smelt like summer roses, a thorough cleaning and sanitizing is required for any estate IMHO. You don't know where that pipe has been.

Part of the pipe restoration procedure is cleaning of the shank and mouthpieces as well as making the stem and bowl look shiny.

Absolutely have to clean and sanitize the completely. 100% agree. I plan on cleaning very well and giving salt baths.

Out of curiosity Indo smell them however when I get them. A few smell good - I wish I knew what he smoked in them. The set that doesn’t appeal to me they guy said he smoked “ English blends in the tell bike, and virginia or Cavendish in the others. My favorite is Peter Stokesbye luxury twist. “ I don’t know if I’ll like those blends individually or not but the combo of their aged cake isn’t appealing.

not sure where I’m going to start.

Williard pipes were mostly sold by US Military Post Exchanges and for a lot of military vets from the 60's,that was their first experience with a pipe. Inexpensive, but not great pipes, with cheap stems, so they got their money's worth.

I’ve toyed with the idea of a birth year pipe, and this would make a hilarious one.
