I see so often that Magic Mesh is mentioned on these restoration threads and I have no clue as to what it is. Could someone please describe what the stuff is or perhaps post a picture? I'd appreciate it.

I guess I didn't realize Rockler had store fronts. Woodcraft also sells the pad kits (but I find I don't use many of the grades). I use 1500 and 2000 wet paper (3M brand), then 8000 and 12000 micromesh sheets to finish the stem.

I have the micro mesh pads from Woodcraft. They work well but I found that starting my stem work with the 3M 1500 and 2000 wet paper gives me much better results. Fortunately you can find that at any Walmart.
