My Two Cents:
1. Instead of a band, please make it a silver ring. I think its more classy that way.

2. Chubby will be my go to style.

3. If you are going for a sandblast finish, strawberry wood or algerian briar is the way to go as the briar is softer and results in more craggy finish.

4. If you want the slimmer version, then yup the band is too big. It shouldn't be a distraction unless its a military mount.

Not quite sure the difference, never heard of a pipe with a ring vs a band.

We are going with Strawberry wood as Michail only uses Grecian Briar.

Thanks for your observations. After talking to Michail and looking at his pipes again, I came to the conclusion that I could nit-pick every thing about the pipe...but the reason I picked him to make it is because I like his aesthetic and proportions. I am sending my 1st payment Friday, very excited to see what happens.

Michail sent me the first pictures or the stummel and a picture of what the ring is going to look like (photo is one of G.L. Pease's amazing pipes). I am super excited, more to come.

I bet a silver shank extension would look cool, but I would think it would be unnecessarily heavy. I think the only I have seen was a bulldog someone scored on the site, had a big chunk of silver on the end.

Looking great !! Oh yup I'm not a big fan of shank extensions, a solid 2-3mm silver extension was in my mind. I have a small Nording squat-ish brandy hybrid(looks like Stanwell)which features a solid silver shank extension but isnt too wide.

Almost there guys....Latest update "The pipe is practically finished and I only need to wait for the finish to cure in order to buff it on Monday.

Then you will have the finished pipe's photos. I've passed a bruyere red as understain and then the black overstain. At this point the red is not that visible but after buffing it will be perfect. Have a nice weekend, Michail"

That looks fantastic. So, is this the first of seven, then?
I have been starring at the photos all morning, words can not express how happy I am with his work. Next we are going to work on the bent billiard. The rest of the set will be a bent Rhodesian, a straight bulldog w/saddle stem, a Canadian, a blasted prince with military mount and the last one being either a poker or a panel(have not decided yet).
PS Billiard measurements:

Length: 139mm

Height: 48mm

External diam.: 33mm

Chamber diam.: 20mm

Chamber depth: 40mm

Weight: 34 grams
