Hello All! I've recently been doing quite a bit of pipe tobacco shopping- restocking. Samuel Gawith has been one of my long time favorites (1792, FVF, Best Brow 2, Commonwealth, etc). It seems like all my normal online sources are out of most or all of the Samuel Gawith blends- anyone know what's going on? I guess I'm not the only one who loves their tobacco!
Does anyone know if Samuel Gawith tobacco will be available any time in the near future here in the US?

I feel your pain since I became a all VA. and VaPer smoker I have sought after FVF but it seems its gonna be my holy grail and be an impossible mission.

I've only tried a few, but they are definitely great blends. I heard earlier this year that they had some issues with importation of their product, which was supposed to have been fixed back in July/August. If this is true, even getting their tobacco back in stores won't last that long being that people here like to hoard it when they find it.

Thanks! I too love FVF and Commonwealth- I normally shop pipesandcigars but will definitely check out cigars and pipes. My brother-in-law has settled down in Sweden and is often in the UK so I may ask him to keep an eye out for me. He sometimes sends me swedish snus so I may have to have him send some SG blends as well (might even have him pick up some Condor and Highland slices when he's in the UK next).
I'll double check Iwan Ries- recently ordered some Rattray's Hal O' the Wynd from there (which is taking the place of FVF in my rotation for the time being- I'm really enjoying it!). On a positive note, the good thing about scarcity of favored blends is that it sometimes forces us to try things we may not have (HOTW is a perfect example for me). My plan is to keep trying new blends, add to my rotation and keep an eye out for the return of SG (and hopefully get some nice packages from my brother-in-law!). Thanks again!

My local tobacconist has a reliable supply of Samuel Gawith tobaccos. Trouble is that tins are like $23.00 or so. Tobacco laws and pricing are rediculous here in Nova Scotia. I still pay the $23.00/tin because I love Samuel Gawith that much, and I like to support local shops. I would be happy to buy and ship them to you if you are game for the high $$$.

I wish Condor was available in the U.S. I've heard many good things about it and would love to get my hands on some... *hint hint wink wink*

Nice NIC-kick I hear/read on Condor...but so are the wonderful SG blends (if you like lakelands) give 1792, Bracken or Black XX Rope a try if you haven't already :puffy:

I wrote Samuel Gawith & Co. regarding when FVF will be available. This was the response I received on 04SEP11:

Dear [martini], we continually ship to our distributors in the US and the latest shipment left 2 weeks ago. It should be available in about 3 weeks after US Customs have finished with their paperwork.
