I bring this up every few months, and will continue to do so as the situation evolves or remains the same. For my American compatriots, it has been many months, perhaps over a year since any JF Germain blend graced our domestic shelves. Several theories have been posited, but I suspect that this tobacco has been doggedly and aggressively pursued by Asian tobacconists, to the point that they have cornered the market. If anyone from JF Germain or its business associates has any information to suggest otherwise, it would certainly be most welcome.

Fair enough Mr Embers, and I can't disagree, but I find it annoying. Whereas we previously enjoyed most favored nation status in the world of commerce, this is no longer the case. At home, my 10 year old daughter receives Chinese language instruction, so that she might someday find good employment opportunities here or abroad.
Seems to be the trend. Sauel Gawith, Comoys and Rattray are hit or miss and until Ladausi got involved, Gawith and Hoggarth was virtually nonexistent here in the states. GF Germain or Butera, forget about it. Germains US offering, Esoterca, comes around once or twice a year in very limited quantities. This wasn't the case 10 years back, the shelves at B&M's were overflowing. But like @Chasing Embers said, too many good blends out there to worry too much about it.
Depends on how you look at it. Can't find what you love, find something else to love. I find no issue in getting what I want when I want it. I haven't seen any change in that for over 40 years. Blame anti smoking and decrease in pipe interest in the US instead. Germain looked for a target audience with a bigger demand and found it. Like any business, they went where the money was. Germain produces few if no aromatics and that's 90% of US tobacco sales.
