I've been watching this club. I mean to make a meeting, but the fridays are out for me until I can change my work hours, and the 18th for me is booked. I hope to make it over there sometime!

Never gonna be able to get a date where everyone can come. If we get going well, maybe we can set up a regular schedule. :puffy:

URGENT! While there was no problem the last time we met at Wild Bill's, I talked to the proprietor just a moment ago, and it seems by law the cigar bar is not allowed to have pipe smokers! In other words, we can't smoke our pipes in their smoking room. I don't understand why they allowed us last time and not this time, but frankly I'm furious. There is an alternative: we can meet at my home just a few houses away (if everyone is OK with this, I'll post a map), using my backyard, and hope the weather is good to us. Can this work for you fellows? The yard and picnic table is pleasant and quite ideal in many ways for our meeting. Chime in quickly about this.

Sorry to hear about our backward legal system when it comes to smoking. I am still in for a 1pm meet up at your place on the 18th. I will bring my own camp chair. The only thing that would keep me away is rain, no fun smoking in the rain...unless I am on my front (covered) porch.

By all means bring anything you'd like. Also, gentlemen, what would you like to drink? Soda, ice tea, etc. I don't recommend alcoholic beverages since you all have to drive.

Here is the map to my home. My cell number is 586-944-8601. 10 Mile leads into Gratiot Ave. at one end and 1-96 at the opposite end. I'm about less than a mile from 1-94, the fifth house off the corner of Collingwood.

A pleasant aside: The Sutliff company will be sending us a box of various Sutliff and MacBarin tins for our meeting, so we should have plenty of party favors to go around. (I got dibs on the coffee mug.) All in all, if the weather cooperates, we should have a great time!

UPDATE: Gents, so far the weather forecast indicates no rain for Saturday, but a little cold, 48 degrees, so dress casual and warm. Coffee will be served. Come in through the rear gate, where you will see a blue Dodge Dart parked. The Sutliff company kindly sent a box of Mountain Pass, an excellent aero for us to share at the very least 2 tins each. If anything goes wrong, you can contact me at 586-776-6061; my cell will be activated Saturday, and the number for the cell is 586-944-8601. Looking forward to seeing you all, and by all means bring friends! See you then!

I'm really hoping I have the chance to make it tomorrow. I have an obligation that might fall through; it would be nice to meet a few of the forum members.
It's true that only cigars can be smoked in a cigar bar, but is Wild Bill's a "cigar bar?" Every Wild Bill's I've seen would be a "tobacco specialty shop," where any type of tobacco smoking is permitted.

I'm not really sure: I've been calling it a cigar bar because that's all I see being smoked there. It's certainly odd, particularly because they sell pipe tobacco products too.

Hope to see everyone tomorrow at one: feel free to use the driveway, the rear gate will be open. Walk in through there, and you'll see my frightening visage smiling up at you from the picnic table.

One last note: if the weather turns out to be inclement, we can gather in my home dining room. I smoke there all the time, and having some friends over to do the same isn't going to be a problem.

Excellent, because it's not going to be real warm.
Wild Bill's is not a cigar bar; it's a tobacco shop with a few chairs set aside in a lounge area. The law may be unclear. I've walked into the shop multiple times while smoking a pipe.
I wonder if it would help if we all bought something. I'm sure most of the guys who sit over there buy a cigar, then go sit there to smoke it.
