Far as I've been able to tell is that it means absolutely nothing. Doing nothing, I was upgraded to "Preferred Member," probably for a post count of 50 and a couple of months of activity. I think it's a good thing that the titles have been dropped, which would seem to be about post count, not post quality. If quality, do you really think Kevin is going to assess each member's worthiness for the next grade, or pay someone to do that?

Ironically, I saw the post above with post benchmarks and realized I’m sitting on 49 - so with this post I’ll guess I’ll have to find out my wife’s reaction later when she finds out she’s now in bed with a junior member - she may demand I post more often, when she stops laughing.
